Asterisk with app_rpt is well defined by the statement “Everything you need, to do everything you want.”

In one box you can have a complete Repeater Controller that encodes and decodes multiple CTCSS codes, has DTMF commands, Voice Announcements, Prompts, Mail and Menus, Contact Closure Telemetry, A PSTN and IPphone Autopatch, a IP-PBX Telephone Switch and Remote Control of Frequency Agency Radios, and a PC PTT Dispatch Client Server.

In keeping with the spirit of Amateur Radio, everything is provided for you to configure or extend the system as you like. The full development environment including source code, compiling and debugging tools are installed.
